Media Specialist/Librarian

Locations:

• 1835 Shackleford Court, Norcross, GA

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Degree and/or certification in the area of teaching required; preferred certification in Education
• Minimum one year of experience in an American setting and authorized to work in the US
• A working knowledge of computers, the Internet, and basic document applications

Job Function:

Collection Management:

• Select, acquire, catalog, and classify library materials.
• Weed outdated/damaged items and maintain inventory.

User Services:

• Assist patrons in finding information and materials.
• Provide reference services and research support.
• Teach students how to use databases and online resources.
• Promote library services to students and staff.

Instructional Collaboration:

• Work with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
• Teach information literacy, research skills, and citation methods.
• Facilitate classroom visits and presentations.

Technology Management:

• Operate and troubleshoot audiovisual and digital library equipment.
• Manage online databases and digital platforms.

Program Development:

• Plan and execute library programs, events, and literacy initiatives.
• Create engaging displays and promote reading programs.

Additional Responsibilities (as applicable):

• • Manage a school library media center.
  • Collaborate with community organizations.
  • Develop policies and stay updated on library technology trends.
