Application Questions

How do I Apply?

All applications are made online. You will find the application and instructions on My AFA portal.

What is the application fee?

Applications submitted during the early-bird period (March 1–30) require a $250 fee. After April 1, the regular application fee is $350. Please note that all fees are non-refundable.

What grades does Al-Falah Academy serve?

Al-Falah Academy currently serves students in Pre-K3 through Grade 12.

What is the age requirement for entering Pre-K3?

Children entering Pre-K3 must be three years old by August 1st of the school year.

What if an item is not marked on the checklist but I believe it has been completed and sent?

We make every effort to keep checklists up to date, so please send an email to admissions@alfalahacademy.com if you have concerns.

Do I need to submit a separate application for each child?

Yes, we require a separate application for each child.

Does my child need to be potty trained to enter Pre-K3 or Pre-K4?

Yes, Children entering Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 must be fully potty trained. This includes being able to use the restroom independently, communicate their needs, and manage basic self-care.

What documents are required for enrollment?

Parents ID, Birth Certificate, Immunization Record (GA Immunization Form 3231 and DPH Form 3300), and Record of Release Form (Grade 1-12).

How long does the application process take?

The application process typically takes up to 6 weeks, after all required documents have been submitted.

Campus Visit Questions

When can I visit Al Falah Academy?

You can visit Al Falah Academy by scheduling a tour through our ‘Visit AFA’ page. We welcome families to come see our campus and learn more about our programs.

Should I bring my student on a campus tour?

Yes, Students are welcome to join their families on a campus tour. This gives them a firsthand look at our classrooms, facilities, and school community.

Placement Testing & Interview Questions

Is placement testing required?

Yes, placement testing is required for all students in 2nd grade and above.

How should I prepare for the placement test?

No preparation or study materials are needed for the placement test. The test is designed to assess each student’s current skills in English Language Arts and Math, allowing us to determine the most appropriate academic placement.

What happens during the student interview?

The student interview is conducted by the principal or an academic administrator. During the interview, they get to know the student’s academic strengths, interests, and goals, while the student can ask questions and learn more about our school community. This helps ensure the best placement and a smooth transition.

Financial Aid Questions

How do I apply for financial assistance?

Does Al-Falah Academy offer financial assistance?

Yes. Financial aid is available for qualifying families.

How much financial aid can families receive?

No student receives 100% financial aid. We feel that every family needs to contribute. Our financial aid program looks at both income and lifestyle to make the best decision that will help the most families. We typically cover 25%-40% of the tuition, depending on each family’s circumstances.

Is Al-Falah Academy qualified for the GA Promise Scholarship?

  • Yes, Al-Falah Academy is an approved participating school for the GA Promise Scholarship. Eligible students who receive GA Promise funding may use their scholarship toward tuition at Al-Falah Academy.

 

General Questions

Does AFA offer mid-year admission?

Yes, AFA offers mid-year admission if seats are available. Applications for mid-year enrollment will be open from November 1 to November 30 for students starting in January.

What does it mean to be waitlisted?

A student is placed on the waitlist when a grade level is full but the student meets the admission requirements. Being waitlisted means the application is complete, and the student will be offered a seat if space becomes available.

How long will my child stay on the waitlist?

Our waitlist is open until August 15th. If a seat becomes available before this date, families will be contacted in the order of the waitlist. If no seat becomes available by August 15th, the student’s application will be closed for the current school year, and the family will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee.

Do siblings of current students get priority in admissions?

Yes. Siblings of current students receive priority during admissions. In February, current families have the opportunity to enroll any new siblings before applications open to the general public.
